My Favorite Hydrangea

Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Mariesii Variegata’

These are second-year cuttings that I planted out last year, five of them. I hope this is the year they creep and then leap to their usual size. The blooms are gentian blue lace-caps.  The leaves pick up the color of Halcyon Blue hostas, If I should find some new hostas this year. They’re planted in high shade in the Upper Garden.

  1. I didn’t even know they existed ! I’ve never seen one !

  2. What beautiful foliage! I can see why this would be a favorite!
