Oxblood Lily

I was watching daily for signs that this lily was going to send up buds and bloom. Sunday I forgot to look. Monday, it was in full bloom. Janie sent me one bulb a few years ago. Look how it has increased!

We finally got some rain in Austin last week and my oxblood lilies all came up at once. For a few days, my garden is filled with waves of red. I think they are my favorite flower because when they bloom it means summer is over.

Your oxblood lillies are beautiful. I found you by googling for oxbloods; mine were so late coming up I was trying to get some good info on them to see why they were tardy.
I see you have some lovely cypress (I call it hummingbird) vine; I like the way you are growing it on a stick house!
Glad I found your blog, I'm going to read some more of your earlier posts.

It's a veritable bouquet coming up out of the ground! I love oxblood lily's sudden arrival, just when one has started to think that fall will never come.
